I usually buy a dozen ears at a time. After boiling completely, eat what we want then, and cut the rest off to put in ziploc bags. I add some water to each bag, then squeeze out all air and then seal.
Put in the refrigerator for about an hour, then move to the freezer. Make sure bags are as flat as possible when you put in the freezer. I use cheap sandwich baggies, but after they are frozen, put them together in a gallon freezer bag for more protection. I have frozen it for up to 9 months. Thaw in hot water while in the bag.
if the corn you buy is not too good, don’t freeze it.
I am too cheap to buy a vacuum sealer. What I do is the frugal vacuum seal. You can do the same with fish filets. The water keeps it from significant freezer burn.
If you want to keep fish filets frozen for over a year, use a cut out gallon milk jug, and after your fish&water is frozen, add another 3/4 inch of cold water to seal and freeze. A friend taught me this. He froze fish in milk jugs for over 2 years.
