Mold removal and cushion cleaning

My boat wound up spending 6 weeks in the weather this winter. The netting in my T-Top that holds our life jackets is now covered in mold. Any suggestions on the best way to clean this netting. Also, what cleaning agents are recommended for cushions, bolsters, etc!? Looks like yacht management weekend rather than fishing....Thx

Try to avoid anything with bleach(which is too bad because it would clean that stuff right up). I would use maybe something like some simple green and a scrub brush. Not using bleach is gonna require a little "elbow grease" but you should be able to get that stuff clean. When you are done, spray the seat cushions with some vinyl protectant.

Is the fabric white? What about the surrounding areas? Is it mold or mildew? (probably mildew)

You can get some tilex tub and shower and try a tiny bit on a hidden area of the fabric and/or surrounding stuff to see if it discolors anything. If it doesn't, then spray it on liberally, wait 20-min, then rinse off. The mildew will be gone. If it's mold, then the tilex will help loosen and break it up, but you'll still need to scrub it to get it off.

For the netting, I'd take it off put it in a mesh laundry bag then throw it in the washing machine and run it a couple times on a warm water setting with normal laundry detergent (use as mesh bag so it doesn't wrap itselfaround the agitator. If you have one of the new High Efficiency Machines without an agitator you can skip the mesh bag.

Take it out and let it dry in the sun.

For the vinylcushions I use soft scrub or Comet... if it's bad, I'll scrub the cushion with soft scrub, NOT wipe it off and let it sit in the sun for a day. There hasn't been any damage to the cushions from it in 10 years. Same with my fiberglass deck.
