BP, Coast Guard Officers Block Journalists From Filming Oil-Covered Beach (VIDEO)

Emerging reports are raising the question of just how much of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill journalists are able to document.

When CBS tried to film a beach with heavy oil on the shore in South Pass, Louisiana, a boat of BP contractors, and two Coast Guard officers, told them to turn around, or be arrested.

"This is BP's rules, it's not ours," someone aboard the boat said. Coast Guard officials told CBS that they're looking into it.

As the Coast Guard is a branch of the Armed Forces, it brings into question how closely the government and BP are working together to keep details of the disaster in the dark.

Mmmmm this is getting out of hand. So BP now controls a branch of our armed forces?

"This is not our rules its BP's"???? What authority does an English owned company have over citizens of the US?

Seems we fought several conflicts..200 F**CKING YEARS AGO to put an end that!

Jesus.

P-cola_Native (20/05/2010)I though the coast guard WAS the authority in US waters? How could they be under the authority of a private company?
I thought the same thing. But since BP is Obama's biggest campaign contributor, maybe they are calling the shots.

Guys this is why I been screamin about this bullshit. Their is a BP twist on this. Wake -up

Rick Jervis of USA today has a documet as follows,---there is a 582 page document titled Regional Oil Spill Response Plan, Gulf of Mexico, was approved in June by the fedreal Minerals Management Service(DIRECTOR FIRED BECAUSE OF LACKS DUE TO LOBBING PRESSURE). It offers technical details on how to use chemical dispersants (NOWSWITCHED BECAUSE OF TOXICITY BIT STILL TOXIC) and provides instructions on <span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">what to say to the news media, but does not mention how to react if a deep-water well spews oil uncontrollably.

ALL THEY HAD WAS A SPIN PLAN AND HOW TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL TO THE PUBLIC. Senator Bill Nelson said on the radio this Morning that they had to beat BP execs to give up the lastest video of the pipe. Itis revealing even more. Last night on AC360 was an interview and the BP spokesman stonewalled Cooper about the reason for hiding everything.
