I'm looking for 1 or 2 marine batteries, new or used at an affordable price. If anyone has any any good sources please let me know.
Thanks.

If you can not spend the money, you could use a group 24 with a lower MCA since that engine does not require the higher amps, but the higher the amps you get, the better off you are for starting and running electrical systems for longevity. If you can afford either the group 24 or 27 in 1000 MCA, I would go with Huff's recommendation if you have the room.

Battery quality/cost/durability

I think I understand what you are asking.
In my opinion, good cheap batteries do not exist. You can buy cheap batteries at Sams Club. A few years back I replaced the six, six volt deep cycle batteries in my boat from Sams Club.
They lasted TWO years. I saved a few dollars over the initial cost of West Marine batteries, which had lasted me EIGHT years. I replaced them with West Marine batteries, which weighed 8 pounds each more than the Sams batteries.

Figure out the savings - in 8 years I would have had to buy 4 sets of Sams cheap batteries, plus the labor of changing 6 batteries weighing almost 60 pounds each.

You gets what you payz for...:whistling:
