Any suggestions for someone who can repair or service a window air conditioner in a rental.
Both units are 2 years old.
One is leaking water.. not sure if it is frozen up or what.
Second one blows .. but not cold air. Figure it needs Freon.

Thanks,
David

For small units like that, I definitely would not call a repairman.
You can get a new 5,000 at Sam’s for around $125 and an 8,000 for around $180.
Just replace them.

Yes replace both don't repair and get a good quality known brand. You get what you pay for. When you replace them use a caucking compound not regular silicone, another, don't ask me how I know.

I called around trying to find two years ago. I was not successful.
I replaced them with mini splits. Best decision i made , on power consumption

Now, the leaking water unit needs to be opened and cleaned
The one not cooling could also be due to dirt, or a mechanical failure
I doubt it needs Freon as they don’t leak, normally, and if they do, replace it

Buy new. For the most part they are all the same quality some don’t spend big money on something that looks fancy.

Never seen a fancy looking AC. Your cheaper window units are made overseas. And wont last as long and are noisey. Get a good unit that doesn't keep you awake at night.

You’re right. I’ve only been in the trade since I was old enough to work.
