Woke up this morning and decided it was going to be way to nice out to not fish. Hit crooked island at sun up. It took some searching around but I found a few fish.
The biggest pompano was as big as they come and boy, what a fight that was on 8 pound line.
All the fish were caught on orange silly Willie's with flys on a loop. I used fiddlers to keep the whiting eating and attract pomps.

Most of the whiting were caught in a one hour period. Just got on the right spot at the right time. That's a lot of good eats.

I am gonna have to be honest and say it. I would rather eat those whiting than the pompano. Thats a good mess of fish.

If the weather holds, I will be out there Friday/Saturday.

I give the smaller whiting to my friends wife. She loves them and bakes me goodies in return.
While pompano his hard to beat in my books, whiting does come a close second.
