I found where someone made a road through are lease. We talked to our timber company, and they said to put up a gate and signs. On the signs I put our number because they told us to. Well we get a call, and we explain that we lease the land for me, mydad and sisterand would apreciate it if he would stay out because we do pay the lease and try to stay out of there unless we are hunting. He told us that he uses that road and is not going to stop. What should we do, any ideas would be great.

Civil way:

If you can identify him, send him a certified letter, return receipt advising him the same thing you told him and that he is forbidden from using the property. Post the property according to tresspassing statute.Block the road and get a trail cam or surveil the property and photo his vehicle or him on the property. Follow upand prosecute him forcriminal tresspassing.

Subtle Approach:

Fell a tree across the road deep in the property. Wait until he comes down the road and stops. Fell a tree behind his vehicle and trap him in. Preferaby after dark.

No witnesses confrontational approach:

Catch him at a roadblock deep in the property and shoot out all of his tires from a safe distance. He should get the message unless he is a real turnip.

Catch him on the property, block in his vehicle when he gets out, beat the dog squeeze out of him and threaten him with his life if he is seen on the property again.

i wuld say tack the road but this guy doesnt appear to be the type to "get the message" so i think that might backfire on you. maybe you should catch him and beat his ass. thats prolly not the best way to do it but it would most likely be the most effective. id def say just wait until you see him drive down it. take a pic of him and his tag number, call the cops and press charges.

Not to be on the guy's side but be carefull how you go about it. Depending on how long the guy has been using it and depending wether or not the land owner had previously knew about him using it, you may or maynot be able to stop use. There are laws in florida concerning this matter. I have seen judges rule in the others guy's favor if he has been using it awhile with the land owner aware of the situation. Be tackfull.

Is it in FL or AL? What county. Al says that a lease is legal and binding unless the property owner sells it and has to give the leasee a certain days notice. With that said, you have a legal right for your lease and he is trespassing. Post signs, trail cam and Game warden notification.if that doesn't work, 50lb test across 2 trees at about neck high.

Let the game warden know, he'll probably be more than happy to help. Good friend had the same problem in wilcox county, guy said he had hunted that property all his life and wasnt going to stop that was until the gw got into his pocket real good.

If you don't plan to use the road make it so nobody can drive down it. Cut every dead tree you can find and lay it across the road. Through a few boulders in it too. If you put a gate uplock it and put a livestock fencer on it to give him a good zap when he tries to pick the lock!

The only way he has access through the land if he's land locked is if he has deeded right of way access. Just because he's land locked doesn't give him the righttodrive through it.

Make sure if you put up any camera'sto catch him that they don't have a flash. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

You need to make sure he does not have an easement through your property. If he does there is not much you can do. If he doesn't I'd let the law handle it. Scary thing about issues on hunting land is most all individuals you deal with are armed. Be careful. Not worth getting hurt over. SHB
