the cracklins make their own lard as they cook.

forgotten art , now i gotta buy another large bag of golden flake pig skins ... some of the other brands are not very good and bet those are great right out of the pan

But do you keep what they cook off? I think is what KPTN is asking
oh, i was reading the question a little differently. yep, those cracklins rendered about a quart.
that kinda lard has a lot of uses especially in the bedroom.

imma make some cracklin cornbread today. anybody else?

My mom always made cracklin cornbread, I never understood why anyone would want to mess up good cornbread with those jaw breakers. If they cook out crispy and crunchy i would just rather eat them, if they are like rocks I want no part of them.

i cooked so many of them cracklins so here's what i'm cooking tonight.
