I have a Honda 225 4-stroke and considered buying a vented engine cover. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I’ve seen guys using them while the engine is running (I.e underway)....can you do that? Maybe a stupid questions...

If you wanted to do it yourself, check out Bob's Machine Shop.

Otherwise, I'd ask myself why - if the factory didn't put them in, then I wouldn't bother because it will likely induce unwanted salt air into the powerhead.

On a good note - back in the day when we raced, if you introduced more air into the carb area, it typically meant re-jetting the carbs. On an EFI, you don't have to worry about it :D

Ive got a pair of Zuke 350’s. Factory made vented covers stay on all the time. Just mesh over air intakes. No problems. Prevents dings/stains on cowling. Priceless if chunking for yft-nothing harder than getting bft blood off cowling after baking all day
