Just picked up a utc in 15 liter size, about three gallons. Question is I am cleaning some engine parts from my boat motor and the vst is made out of aluminum and magnesium looking for some input on cleaning agents. What works, what dont. Preferably home made cleaners. Thanks in advance.

I’ve heard Simple Green works well in these machines..
I know some guys that use it in theirs to clean suppressors.

2nd Boardfeet! In the dive shop, we used Simple Green in the sonic cleaner for regulator parts. I've seen some reel repair videos that just use a light concentration of Dawn and water and it worked great. Be careful. The one in the shop would take the chrome off of parts if you left them too long.

Simple green will remove the protective coating on the VST. I use a cleaner called Omega, works fabulous.
Kenny, I looked Omega up and seems that there are a lot of Omega products that do the same cleaning. Which one are you using? I miss your shop being close by.
