Alright I need to Hook the wires up to the trolling motor.. They use to be conneceted together but, when I was workin on the boat last I found them to be coming apart.. Its a 24volt setup, it had the 2-red wires connected to the one red-wire and the same with the black... Whats the best way to reconnect.?

To start with the wiring looks and I bet is undersize.

That is why they are using 2 -undersize Red wires and 2- undersize Black wires.

Not to mention the wire is not shinny looking and has had corrosion starting.

I would replace it myself.

Whipper, the wires connect to a plug which is about 2-feet from the splice.. Which from the plug it is connected to the 2-batteries..

X-shark where Can I pick up some good trolling motor wire?

I think I've got it all fixed up now, I cut the wire back and put some good grease on it.. Now I just need to get some connectors to connect it up... The wires fit inside the #10 on my wire stripper.. So i guess its 10gauge or possibly 8.

West Marine has it....but it's expensive there.

I'm sure it's 10ga.

I use bigger than that for just short runs, but it all depends on the length of the run and amp draw as to what gage wire to use.
