i use the big game a lot and have had some with more memory than i would like but nothing like your describing. i still use it on most of my reels both spinning and conventional. i only have 1 baitcaster but it has 15 lb big game on it and i havent noticed anything.

i get it at walmart. i get the 1/4 pound spool in the bright green color.
