This is not right. Yes 285s are taller than 265s if the second number is the same. 285/75/16 means that the tire is 285mm wide across the tread. The second number is the aspect ratio. The 75 means that the tire sidewall is 75% as tall as the tread is wide. In this case the sidewall is 285mm x .75 = 213.75mm tall. The third number is the size of the hole in the middle of the tire (what size rim it fits). I know it is weird. You get one number in metric, one as a percentage, and one in inches.SPECKDECK (2/17/2010)285's are taller than 265's. I went through this awhile back. 75 is the width and 16 is the height. 285 is the width between the rim and the outside of the tire.
Looks like a good deal for 16 inch rims
