Own a 21’ WA, lived on the east coast of FL and it was easy to find BFT, Mahi, Sails and others within a easy 10-15 mile run.
Seems that in order to find those here in any numbers requires a run to the nipple, edge or even farther.
What’s the consensus on making those runs with a boat like mine?
Not overly concerned about range, I get roughly 2mpg, approximately 140-150 mile range with a full tank.
Are there any spots closer in that hold fish in numbers. Maybe just a certain time frame that they move closer?
Does any one else run a boat similar to mine, and if so do you venture to the areas that tend to be popular with pelagic species?

Remember to use one third gas ratio for safety. One third out, one third back and one third reserve. In case of emergency. I ran all over the gulf in my 21 Hydra Sport single motor. Just pick your days and watch for nasty weather building. This is also the time of year that the BFT and Mahi will be at the edge and sails on the beach in bait pods!
