Boat ramp 925 (navy point) met a guy waiting on Bob Quarrels. Didn't get your name sir, nice guy. Shoot me a PM if you read this, my fishing partner is pretty busy these days.

On the Liberty at 10 am. Butterfly jig down , small scamps and small AJ's, 1 snapper. Flipper shows up for a while and gets a couple b4 they get down.

Move to the Tex and marked a bunch of fish. Caught 2 nice big bull reds, little larger AJ and a 6-7# snapper. Switched to a big curl tail grub latched onto something larger that came off 1/2 way up.

Lost my mighty midget anchor. Tried 10 mins to pull it off, it just wasn't coming. Im tired of buying anchors.

No pics it was just me. I usually don't report but man this forum is short on reports because of the weather.

Water was dirty in the bay. Come on warm weather..

lastcast (2/19/2010)Sounds like a pretty fun day to me. Jigging and some pulls. Glad you got out. Dont mean to derail but, wanted to ask if you use a ball to retrieve your anchor?

Skip

nah it was a wreck anchor that was designed with tines that bend when you back down on it with the motor. do the balls work with those?

I was thinking of getting a fluke and just sticking it in the sand and using line to position the boat. This is my first year fishing the wrecks so im learning as i go. is that how most people do it?
