Pensacola Beach. surf was super flat, north wind was 3-5. patches of grass but it was all on the bottom. lots of action real close to the beach, large schools of blue runners eating bait balls, lots of 40+ inch redfish close to the beach. sight casted, hooked up and broke off on 1, 20 feet from the beach. used the wife's paddle board to go out to the second sandbar to investigate a large bait ball only to find directly over it was a Large (30-40) school of tarpon. I paddled right over them and they were unfazed. every single one was between 4-6 feet long. touched one with the paddle and it lumbered off slowly not concerned with the interaction. went back and got the reel with the only live bait I had, a small blue runner. and they wanted nothing to do with it. wife even seen a turtle 50 feet from the beach. it was a great day.
