I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but I'm going to keep "keywords" out of the post so it doesn't pop up in a google search. Also Jon thank you again for the help and capping this animal out for me. He is now at Chads for taxidermy. But I will fill you in on how the kill went. 2pm I decided to climb down out of my saddle, as I was packing up all my gear, I had a gut feeling to look back in the marsh. What would you know, here comes this stag. I grab my muzzleloader, he stopped at about 50 yards, I shot, he ran 10 yards then stood there for about 30 seconds and fell over. He field dressed at 235lbs, was estimated to weigh around 320lbs.

It was more bland than elk but still had a game flavor like an elk. It definitely was tougher than the elk I shot. Still tasted better than the bucks and does we all shoot in BW. lol

It did until Thursday afternoon, after I shot this guy the wind slacked off and man did I get ate up. I swore I was going to need a blood transfusion by the time I got out of there.

You had the lucky new guy horseshoe up your butt. It was a pleasure helping you get it out and cleaned up.

My butt is still sore. Hardest hunt of most people's life! You put in the effort and it paid off. Just gets harder as the hunt goes on. Congrats again. I put in 48 miles!!!

48 miles is crazy. After scout day and opening morning I think my ONX logged 18 miles and only two of those miles were riding a bike because my butt was too sore to ride. lmfao.

A gar is gonna gar. lol I actually went on an elk hunt back at the beginning of November. Unfortunately we had to cut the hunt short due to the major snow storm that was coming in. It would have been way to dangerous to pack an elk out or even pack camp out after that snow storm.

Up here when camping out with a bunch of drunks, it's a good idea to strap a Dutch oven lid to your ass before you pass out.
