Kirk at Key Sailing told me that he had a 2009 Hobie Revolution Papaya (Yellow) stolen sometime btwn Thursday night and Saturday AM. The word DEMO is hotstamped into the gunwale. They did not steal the Mirage drive (pedals), seat or paddle. They may be looking to sell it or use it without the pedals. Both would seem very odd and stand out.

The Serial Number is ccmt8721L809

Please call Key Sailing if you know anything.

Geez it seems like some people over at the panhandle need to catch a serious ass whiping. I cant believe all the posts of break ins and theft. Some people are just low life scum that ruin anything that good and fun. This makes me almost uncomfortable leaving my yak ontop of my car overnight

FLSalomon (3/3/2010)I heard on the radio this morning that someone reported a kayak matching this description on Craigslist, notified the police who set up a sting buy and nabbed the thief... any truth to this? If so, great news and good work by the "kayak watch" team...

If true, that's a dumbass thief. Steals it. Then puts up a local Internet add.

I'm no thief. But I'd think this kindof thing would be covered in the scumbag101 course.

They did bust a kayak stealing ring in Tampa. Maybe Kirk's kayak was involved and it can be recovered.

I heard the kayak was sold and ready to be picked up. When that happened, Kirk more than made up the difference bynot only getting the guy a brand new kayak to replace the used demo he had purchased, but upgraded him to a PA! Othershave said great things aboutKey Sailing, too, so if you are in the market for nice kayak, go buy from Kirk! :bowdown
