Hello fellow anglers! 2012 has come and gone, and I'm looking forward to what's new on the horizon for the year ahead. It's going to be a great year; I can feel it!

It seems like spring is pretty far off, but really it's just around the corner. That's the nice thing about living in Florida; winter doesn't hang around long.
See this link to check out what we catch in March during Spring Break.

On Jan 26, I woke up to temps in the upper 60’s to nearly 70 degrees. Was this a trick from Mother Nature? Who cares? And to top it off, the rest of this week the weather is going to be perfect with temps in the 70’s.
I went out and fished Escambia Bay / River, bit was good, lots of Specks 14 -17", no reds that day, but still had fun.

Looks like it's time to wipe the dust off of your tackle and hit the water, if you haven't already been out.

Typically, it's a little cooler this time of year, but maybe Mother Nature forgot to buy a new calendar for 2013, and that's fine by me.
If you missed my last report, I’ve been fishing in Blackwater and Escambia for trout and reds. We caught some reds but more trout. I’ve found the bite to be really good in the afternoon from 11-5 p.m.. Back at it again all this week both fun fishing and charters.

Thanks for stopping by, now go get your bags packed for spring break in Pensacola.

If your looking for a great light tackle inshore charter give me a shout,

Tight Lines.

Hi John saw you heading out from 17th this PM were you white trout fishing?
Seems like they are not as plentiful as usual
No, haven't white trout fished in about two weeks, been hitting Escambia & Blackwater Bay a lot, both with charters and fun fishing. Today I fished Escambia Bay, yesterday I fished Blackwater Bay, On today's trip the trout bite was pretty good, lots of 14" specks, with some keepers mixed in.

The month of February I fish a lot in these area's, Over the next two weeks, I'll be running some trips along with fun fishing. I'll usually stay north of 3-Mile in Jan and Feb, till around Mid March and then make my way back to the pass for the Sheepshead run.
Tight Lines.. John
