Headed to out yesterday to troll the south east edge to the nipple. Wanted to put in near the Oriskany. There were scattered storms and every time I entered a waypoint and got on the heading there was a storm directly where I was heading.
We skirted around storms until 12p. We had one toothy critter leave it’s signature on a Yozuri bonito and 2 other knock downs that would end up being 2 10 lb bobos. That was it on trolling.
The water was clean green almost blue green the further south and east you went. I probably was 33-35 miles southeast from the pass (pcola) at my furthest. The wind and waves made it tough for weed lines to form.
Ended up fishing a couple of spots on the edge on the way back in for a nice gag, a keeper scamp and some mingo. At least we got dinner.
I also found a couple beautiful spots in 450’ water. Wish I had electric reels.
