just got back from oakuma s.d. the guide said it was the best year they've had in a long time. three hunts we killed 145, all cocks, no hens with 15 hunters.

Driscoll, how do you cook Ringnecks? I always end up with Dry Cardboard tasting tough meat.

curtis, i got several recipes from the guys out there, debone the breast, pound it flat to tenderize it and pan fry or deep fry, remove immediately when it floats. pour mushroom gravy on it.do not cook as long as you do as long as you do other poultry. you can also do it in a crock pot and with potatoes, onions and carrots and it will remain juicy and tender. i think the key is to not overcook it.

Damn I wish I could have gone up there with you. I am from Rapid City. I have been itchin to go bird hunting back home for a long time now.

Great hunt and pictures. Sounds like you cook them just like Duck. Over cooking them enables you to re-sole shoes.
