This is the first chance I got to get out and catch some fish.I got there at daybreak and was broken off 2 times back to back by a couple big ones.It seemedthe fish were hitting and I was gonna clean up.Boy was I wrong. It was a slow , slow day.I finally got one in the box and a friend ( I can't remember his name on the forum)calls to see if I was out there.I didn't get another hit for hours. Jesse gets there and gets one in no time then the action stopped for him too.A few more fish were caught with lots of time between them.We fished until around 2 and called it quits with 5 fish. One good thing I can say is all the fish were large and fat. We did not catch a single small one.The longest was 19 inches.

It wasn't just us though.I saw very few fish caught today.I am going to try again Saturday and hope for a better report.BTW we used sand fleas as bait.

Help me out with january sandfleas if you would please, are they down very deep do you need a shovel, or can you use a rake? I have lived here all my life near Navarre Bch. but I was unaware the fleas could be had this time of the year...or were they frozen from last fall? Help me out with this one please.

I just rake out as far as I can reach past the drop. I don't find that they are any deeper.Just a bit farther out.
