There will be many out there swording and fishing the rigs. I've sold a pile of squid and ballyhoo today so there should be a lot of boats on the water over the weekend.

You'll be in the path of a bunch of guys heading offshore. Make sure that anchor light is working well!

I won't be spending the night out there but plan to hit the edge, nipple, and maybe the 131 hole up first thing Saturday morning. According to the satellite service I subscribe to it looks like blue(ish) water has moved into the edge area and there looks to be a nice rip about 18 miles from Pensacola Pass towards the edge.

I am looking at going further than 17 miles to fish for something bigger than snapper any ideas or numbers to head towards this will be my first time out this far and deep any help sure would be nice I sm hoping to catch aj and or grouper. What bait do I need I see squid is good where would I get that from

Go to the edge, use a chicken rig with squid and then send down some live bait. On the bottom for Grouper and half way down for big jacks. Long leaders for jacks and 6' for Grouper.

We will be out there trolling around all day sunday on heres the deal on channel 68 around nipple/ elbow area. going swording fishing @spur tonight.

Ended up spending the night at the oriskany. Had a boat to the NE and one to the South about a mile away. Got a 3 man limit of ajs and a bunch of mingos. Headed in an hour after daybreak.
