I got to the beach side of Sikes today around noon with the plan to avoid parade traffic and find a parking spot. The fish were biting on the incoming tide. I didn't fish for sheepies, just whatever would bite. The white trout were biting fairly well. I saw around 12 landed including my 4. I also caught one southern kingfish and plenty of pigfish and pinfish. Nothing exciting, but not a bad way to kill some time. Bait of choice was fresh frozen shrimp. I watched a loon pop up beneath me with an ~8in catfish and swallow him down. Made me smile.
Parade was OK. Not nearly as crowded as normal. Probably had to do with the alcohol enforcement.
