Went out to the end of pickens today armed with a few pinfish, bottle of sailor jerry and the new surf setup. Penn pursuit 8000 on an 11ft penn torque with 65lb braid. Got out there and put a line in the water around noon and man was it hot. Water was crystal clear but the jellyfish were crazy thick. I was hoping the fishing would be descent near the pass when the tide started rushing out but the only bite i had was monster stingray i fought for about 20 minutes. Got him about 10ft from the shore before the hook broke in half. He sure put on a good show though and it was amazing as always to here the drag screaming. Menhaden were everywhere as well as a few descent size schools of mullet. I didn't bring the net since i wanted to commit to testing out the new surf setup. The fish weren't plentiful by any means but im happy i got to put the new setup to a descent test. We'll be back out there tomorrow with the shark rigs hoping for some better luck.
