Im down here in sunny Sarasota Florida and decided to drag my flats boat the "TITLECHANGE" down with us on our family vaction to visist my cousins. Got here sunday night after a long tow down from Georgia. Got to Sarasota around 6 PM and decided to fish that night as my cousin had 60 shrimp waiting on me. Got out to snook alley around 10 pm and drove to the first spot which was a huge dock with giant white lights on it. We eased up with my new trolling motor and there was 10,000 snook just sitting there waiting for a snack to come down the pike.We cast live shrimp and topwaters at them and caught 2 Dozen snook in less than 1 hour at this spot. The dock was hot but we had a dock fisherman there and it was cripping our style so we moved on to the next spot which was a swinging bridge. This spot was on fire ! we caught the rest of our catch here consisting of 5 to 25 pound snooks on almost every cast. We released every fish we caught because we had nothing to measure with but we had several that would have made the slot. We caught them on crank baits and top waters that i had in the boat from lake fishing. The hot lure was the lazer eyes series by BPS, and a sammy topwater of all things. We caught a total of 57 snook , 2 redfish and untold lady fish for the night which ended at 4am. BTW the lady fish down here are huge ! and fight like a baby tarpon on crack . Fished monday night with the wife to see if she could catch here first snook. We could only fish 3 hours but in that 3 hours we caught 21 snook to 12 pounds and released them all. My wife was able to here first snook and 10 more so the night was a success and so is our total catch of 78 snook in 2 nights of fishing. Had to do disney Yesterday so no fishing last night but i have today and thursday and friday night to fish still. I havent fished durning the day as night fishing is just so much better , plus you dont have to sweat it out in the sun all day. Hope to post some more reports by the weeks end as well as post some photos. Till then tight lines guys.
