Sitting at our dock friday morning and out in front piles of bubbles start coming up. Then a whirlpool starts. 10 minutes later I have nothing. Sucked a oak tree in also with a pile of bank. Spots where it was bare dirt is now 23 ft deep.

Had 4 young children swimming there then day before. Never heard of it in that area until this. Guy walked down and said it happened at the lot above him few years back.

Seen it happen but never to a dock. Every winter in one area the bank loses to the river and takes some giant 60’ tall oaks with it. They usually slide straight down and the tree ends up still standing up and buds out. I hate to see this as im sure you’re like me and your dock is one of your favorite spots

This was different than anything I've seen. Water was dead still when it happened. Bunch of bubbles came up first then the swirl. Left one hell of a hole.

Got to ask. How will you feel about letting kids swim there in the future?
