Report: Pensacola Bay 10/12

Went out of Pensacola Bay at 8:30 a.m. Caught mostly small Black Snapper on the usual spots. Birds and popping bait were evident everywhere, and it appeared to be mostly spanish feeding on the top of the water. We threw some diamond jigs at them and decided to try something else. We decided to start trolling stretch 25's and WHAM, a big BULL Red. It hitthe fire tiger. After a good fight he was released to fight another day. Also, check out my fishing buddy's catch. 4 smallgrouper on one cast with a sabiki rig. I hope they come to see us when they get bigger. Neither one of us had ever seen that before. I have also heard the King's have moved into the bay but we didnt land any of them.

Pretty cool with the sabiki. Nice bull too! Good luck next time with the kings.
Fishing buddy here, one other cool thing we saw at the 3 mile bridge was a huge school of 2-3 foot wide rays. There had to be at least 300+ of them. I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but they flowed past our boat ten wide for at least a whole minute. We also had a visit from a big ole sea turtle. Great day overall, and it could have been even better. Old brittle line caused us to loose at least three quality fish. I?m off to the garage to string on some fresh. Nice job on the report JJ, good help is hard to find.
