Four of us drove down Thursday with two boats. Started in perdido pass hoping for some reds. We stayed for a few hours hoping the bite would turn on, but it never really got going. We did catch one sheep and one of the guys got spooled by what we assume was a nice red. We were anchored and the line was gone before we could get loose. Friday we spent the morning trolling for reds just off the beach...no bites. I did keep running over large schools of what guess were bait fish. What kind of bait fish would be hanging just off shore? Fridays afternoon we ran over to p'cola bay and trolled for reds before anchoring on the southern most jetties and everyone was catching fish but us. Then we figured out that if you dragged a live shrimp on bottom then stop it when you bump a rock the bites would come. We ended up catching 18 nice sheep's and a MONSTER pompano. Good trip and can't wait until the next one.
