I was wondering what a boat mechanic on the forum would charge me to replace my lower shift cable on a 305 mercruiser alpha I. I just pulled the foot off today and replaced gimble bearing and greased u joints, reinstalled foot (which was a pain in the butt) then my shift interupt switch is sticking, well come to find out my lower shift cable is frayed it must have been rubbing up against something, after about two hours of adjusting and it still not being right i noticed that. I could do it myself I just dont feel like it..lol So my question to you all is what would one of you charge me to do it if I bought the parts?
