Loved these things growing up. My folks would throw us kids and a lantern in the car and we would walk all over the beach at night for no reason. Always a blast.

way fun. we used a broom handle with a straightened
coat hanger stuck in it for a probing rod. a lot more fun
than the way it is now. i think they quit doing it on the beach
to save the dunes.

The fiesta of five flags treasure hunt is what that evolved into IIRC.......The beach used to have all kind of cool stuff they don't do anymore....The boxing ring next to the pier would have fights every Thursday ,most from the Pensacola boxing association.....
Seafoofood festival fishing tournament...kite flying...etc...

I was a small kid in the 70's when my father and my uncle had the Goofy Golf Course and arcade on the beach. I remember those boxing matches like they were yesterday and I haven't thought about those in years.
i can remenber rideing on the beach right in front of the beach casino you could ride your beach buggy pensacola beach to navarre beach build a fire that was back in the sixties those were the days:thumbup:
