I got on the water at seven this morning to check out Boggy Bayou. Hooked six Bull Reds near Lincoln Park on topwater lures. An X-RAP twitching mullet was the big winner. Lots of bait around, mostly Gulf menhaden (aka LYs) and gulls, pelicans, ospreys and a bald eagle working the bait. Reds weighed 19, 18, 18, 16, 14, and 14 pounds. None in the slot. Wore me out, so I quit early and prospected. It looked like the bite was over by 9 AM. Don't recall seeing so much bait or so many birds in the area for several years. I apologize for the photos but it’s hard to take decent pictures when you’re fishing alone and have to return the fish as quickly as possible.

Nice. I can only think of one other way that I would like to be worn out.

We landed six more today but there was less bait and fewer birds. One of six was in slot so got invited home for dinner. They were all a beautiful golden color.

You can launch at Lincoln Park in Valparaiso or at two other launches on upper Boggy in Niceville.
