You guys that are casting to visible fish. How far would you say is the max, accurate cast you've made on a fish? The rods I'm working on, I can cast 2 oz. an honest 80 yards, but that's it. Contrary to what most guys I know seem to think, 80 is a HELL of a long ways to throw at a specific target.
So I'm wondering about Forum opinions?

there are some guys on the piers that are sharp shooters when it comes to throwing those jigs. me personally, id say within 50 yards to be accurate. not as experienced as some with the larger gear, pompano jig I'd hit you between the eyes, cobia jigs not so much. if I could go somewhere to practice throwing a cobia jig other than the piers id be better.

No 11.25ft but my 10ft roddy gator tail is a 100yd rod no problem....
Power Pro has greatly increased casting capabilities since it has come out....Am I the best...NO....there are plenty of pier fisherman that can cast these distances with accuracy.....The first shot rule really takes the long cast out of the equation in most instances.....At Navarre there is no first shot rule and I hope it stays that way......
