Anyone ever hunted down there? If you ever see it, you wouldn't think mule deer live there but they do. This is a small one, first one I saw back in the 90's. A friend hunting with us killed a lot nicer one on the same trip and my nephew missed one. We were hunting on a friends ranch, not a hunting ranch (amazingly cattle).

My brother has lived down there forever, retired there with the Gov. He just purchased 400 acres that border the Rio Grande.

It is truly the wild west, bandits from Mexico come across the river on horseback, steal cattle and drive them back across. It happened to my brother on a ranch he had leased. He arrived on horseback, just after they cross back into Mexico and had one guy in his rifles crosshairs but thank God he didn't shoot the guy.

I hunt near del rio every year. But still 200 plus miles from there.
A 200 mile drive is a short commute for those folks. I think it was a half day drive to the El Paso airport.

You whitetail hunting?
