I've never used the stuff and I wanted to get a few opinions.

1. Has anyone used it on a baitcaster? I was thinking of spooling an Abu 6000 with it.

2. How about for sheepshead fishing off the pier? Would it be better than mono?

Sheepshead always seem a little spooky so I'm leery of using anything but mono.

Thanks for any help.

I actually use 50# on my Abu 6000 for Sheephead. It works great for that. It definitly has its place, depending on what your doing.

I have 20lp powerpro in my abu 6600. I think its a 8ft pole. and I cant seem to cast for sh*t. I can get it to go like maybe 15 ft. with a1.5 sinker.Any special tricks to it?

Here is one tip for braid on baitcasters. Use same diameter braid as the reel manufacturer recommends formono. In other words, if the reel is rated for 12# mono, then use a braid that has the same diameter as 12# mono. I think this would equal 50# powerpro. This doesn't mean set your drag for 50# line. Use the same drag setting as you would if it were 12# mono. I use 40 to 65# braid on all of my baitcasters with no issues whatsoever.

PS. If you can't cast a baitcaster well with mono, braid will be worse.

Do yall use mono backing or do you fill the spool entirely with braid. I want to get some for my 2500 stradic for inshore fishing.
