Couple of years ago, there was a 97.8# king that was supposed to be the record king.
There was a new record AJ caught here and posted on the PFF, but dude never filled out the paperwork.

It's only speculation until the paperwork is filled out and the catch is verified.

I've been on a few tournament boats when high 60s to 70-pound fish were landed, but nearly triple digits is a big king. It will be interesting to see if the sole angler stipulation comes into play for this one on a charter boat. Often the mate grabs the rod first with clients and that would DQ it.

I spearguned 2 amberjack on the pool barge, 40 or so years ago. 198 lbs for both. Those were some big fish. Powerheaded in federal waters.the poole barge was south of the trisler grounds. About 120ft deep.
