Hey everybody....I am a long time reader but have not posted a whole bunch because I really haven't caught anything worth bragging about. But, check out this pompano we caught behind Egling AFB on the grass flats. This is the first pompano I have caught in the bay, and by far the largest. The fish was 27 inches and 6.5 lbs!!!!!!! It ate a live shrimp fly lined in about 6 feet of water. Tight Lines.

The photo is actually a week old...he was grilled the first night. I checked out the record, and the Florida record is right at 8 lbs. Since the Destin Fishing Rodeo is now in full swing, I wish we had caught it a week later.

is it 27 to the fork if so thats a giant even at 24 its a giant wont beat the state record at 6.5 but if u put him catching this fish on the igfa weebsite save line pics and all he probobly has a jr record if nothing more he will get a nice certificate remembering the fish congrats thats the biggest pompano i have seen in sevral years
