Decided to put my newly learned theory of pompano bite after dark. I got out about 5:15 and had the first fish on the beach by 5:30.... I missed 3 more bites and only fished 2 rods today. They're here, go get em!

Mundaca,

It will be from just east of Portofino Towers, to I believe the Ft. Pickens gate, or somewhere around there. The normal beach current is east-west so it is more likely to be noticed that direction (downstream).

It will muck up fishing until the sand fleas, crustaceans, worms, etc, reestablish themselves. Seems though it would cause the fish to bunch up at either end searching for food.

Red tide is no joke. Its not fun to be out there coughing up a lung! If you stay towards the west by Ft Pickens or over to Perdido the water is much better. I scored one keeper Pompano at about 11:45 yesterday at chicken bone beach.
