I don't know if those fancy rigs work better or not. I'm not interested in paying $7-10 for a rig. I've always used a double dropper rig like mentioned above. I think some beads or a "float" can help at times, especially when the surf is rough, as it may catch the eye of a fish. If it's calm and the water is clear, I may drop down on my leader size and not have any beads or floats. Carolina rig may work if it isn't rough, if you have any surf, you'll probably end up with a tangled mess. I think orange is the best color for beads or floats, especially if you are fishing with sandfleas. I'd be interested to hear others thoughts as well.
