:furious::furious:pew is not only out to destroy fishing in the United States, but world wide. Pew, as well as EDF, must be stopped.
Direct from the Pew web sight:
"The Pew Environmental Group is on a mission to create 15 massive marine sanctuaries by 2020. And the group is nowhere close to done. Pew helped spearhead the campaign to establish the reserve, which includes an area the size of Spain closed off to all fishing. The nonprofit was also instrumental in establishing the other largest marine reserves in the world: two near the northwest Hawaiian Islands and the Marianas Trench in 2009, and another encompassing the Chagos Archipelago, a string of islands and coral atolls in the Indian Ocean, in 2010. All told, the amount of ocean set aside from extractive activities adds up to 868,000 square miles -- an area larger than Greenland. And the group is nowhere close to done"

Love it or hate it, marine sanctuaries are a good thing for the wildlife. Have you actually seen where PEW is campaigning to have turned into Sanctuaries?

Here is a quote directly from the horse's mouth:
First, avoid prime fishing grounds. You can't win there, so don't bother. Instead the group typically looks for more remote places that are outside the fishing zones of large nations or small island communities.

No problem with sanctuaries, when needed, the problem is with Pew.

Captain Bob Zales ll has made an detailed study of Pew. Who is Bob Zales ll?
Capt. Bob, II began working in the fishery management arena in 1987 in an effort to help provide common sense and real world experiences to the process. He has offered years of experienced testimony along with his time to help provide reason into the management process. This effort has led Capt. Bob, II to be active in several fishing organizations such as the Panama City Boatmen Association, the Florida Guides Association, and the National Association of Charterboat Operators. He serves as the Northwest Florida Director for FGA and as President for PCBA and NACO. What has Captain Zales learned about Pew?
"Pew was formed with money from the trust of Sun Oil, I believe, family members. Their power comes from the money and then the much generated misinformation environment to millions who know nothing of the real world. They use their money to hire enviro lawyers and others to further their cause. This effort has been on going for many, many years and has been a well designed effort. They are patient, well funded, and have a distinct mission to take fishermen and boaters off the water. They fund many other enviro orgs who share the same goals. Over the years they have placed their like minded supporters and friends in key legislative staff positions and work the halls of congress daily. Their direct connection to noaa is thru Dr. Lubchenco, Head of NOAA, who was a vice president of EDF, funded by Pew, and the real threat to us because of their push for catch shares and ocean spatial management. Their direct impact on the gulf council is thru Julie Morris, council member from FL
