Got set around 9:00 am ... Water looked ok but improved as the day progressed. We ran mostly naked flea rigs to start off, in hopes to keep the trash bite to a minimum. Surprisingly, other than a few hard tails, hard heads & skip jacks, the bite was mostly quality.
We never rallied the bite but picked away throughout the day with 3 Pompano, 3 Whiting & 1 Convict ending up boxed. The overall grade was better than average. The Whiting were among the biggest I've caught this year, the big Pompano weighed 2.95 & the Convict was over 3.
A few fish were taken on naked flea rigs, a couple on fish bites tipped with shrimp ... The Whiting & big Pomp were taken on peeled shrimp with floats and beads.
EZ-Up saved us as SE winds prevailed most of the day and it was quite comfortable in the shade.
