Can anyone give me any general info about fishing the pass. My friends dad is takin us out there on the boat today and would love to somewhat know what we are doin. Haha any help would be greatly appreciated by all.

Fish with weight. Strong currents run through the pass.

Fish using carolina rig leaders. Bring some live bait and some frozen bait. Use small hooks with cut bait and you can catch pin fish which you use live to catch redfish. You will need to keep an eye out for idiots, as posted above. Also make sure everybody has fishing license and make sure its the right license not a land license.

Yes, especially those who choose to troll across the path of vessels transiting thru the navigational channel...and then bitch about their lost gear.

Look for flocks of birds diving, it means there is a school of bait being pushed up from underneath by bigger fish. Keep a couple smaller rods ready with gotcha lures, or metal spoons on steel leader ready to cast all the time. Don't run over the school it will spook the fish, stop well short and drift toward it and make long casts. Spanish mackeral, bluefish, ladyfish, redfish and others could be there. And if you drop a live bait near one of the schools be ready for a bull red, shark, or a king mackeral. Good luck.
