I was wondering if any of you guys who hunt the swamps ever hunt over overcup oaks. I have found a couple places where the acorns cover he ground and I can't tell if the deer are hitting them or not. Seems like they should be crushing them by now but the only thing I see eating them are hogs....

Overcup acorns are late season forage. They are more bitter than other acorns, and do not get palatable until they sit on the ground for awhile. I would say they will probably sit until late jan or early feb and they will start crushing them after the other acorns run out. Sounds like you will have a late season hot spot if the hogs dont eat them all ;)
