ON ONO REEF AT FIRST LIGHT- FIRST CAST A 16/17 IN WHITE- SO GOES THE MORNING. LEFT THEM BITING ON ONO--WENT TO ROSS REEF AND CAUGHT A FEW MORE. ALL TOTAL- WHITES,FLOUNDER,CATS--A VERY GOOD MORNING.HOME-CLEAN FISH-BATH-ICE TEA-NAP TIME. http://groups.msn.com/basstracker66/shoebox.msnw
what were you fishing with out there? I've used live shrimp and pinfish, a few artificials. Got the most bites on the shrimp, biggest fish on the pins and nothing on the artificials.
EDIT: oh, I see in the pictures you were using a gulp shrimp. Never tried that there. Did try a DOA, but probably didn't give it a chance. You just bouncing it along the bottom?
WA RA---- FOR ME THE GULP SHRIMP IS MY BAIT OF CHOICEON A REEF. THIS MORNING I USED MYOLDGULPS,FISHED WITH BEFORE,TORN, DAMAGED. THE WHITES HIT ANY PART OF A GULP YOU THREW AT THEM. THEY WERE HOT. JUST POP IT OFF THE BOTTOM. A DOA CAN BE FISHED THE SAME WAY--IT IS A GOOD BAIT--BUT MY CONFIDENCE LEVEL IS HIGHER WITH THE GULP. GOOD LUCK.
If you are going down the ICW heading east toward Holiday Harbor with Ono Island to your right, it is just to the right of the channel there with sign markers just past innerarity point.
These are both artificial reefs (bridge rubble, I think) that the state of Alabama are creating.
