Why use a local shop if you can get a better deal online? I cannot speak for anyone else but I work hard for my money and if I can save some money by going online I will. This just means that I can buy more tackle. Why pay more for a item just because it is a local tackle shop.

If the local shops were not so overpriced then people would not go online. Or better yet how about the local tackle shops have the ability to purchase online. Just because tackle shops in the area are 30 years behind the rest of the country regarding online shopping does not mean that I should pay more for a item. I priced shop for a while on a couple reels I purchased and the reels were cheaper at West Marine than 3 of the tackle shops in the area. That is pretty bad. Another option is maybe the tackle shops price match online stores.

In my opinion, the only place that has a decent price on tackle and such is Sams in OB.

To answer the OP I have also used tackle direct and been very satisfied with them.

i work hard for my money to and would rather spend the extra few dollars with a local tackle store so that i know if i have a problem with it i can walk back in and walk out with its replacement that day and not have to worry about sending it back, hopefully getting it back before the end of the season if at all. to me i would take customer service over a discount anyday

Let me say we are all tempted to save a nickel and buy from an outside source (online) but if you fail to support your local tackle shop he will not be there when you need him for information, bait and so on. Buy local and we all benefit.

Your local tackle shop
If you dont support local shops, there will be no more local shops, no where to get bait, nowhere to put line on your reels. no where to repair your broken gear. it may cost a few dollars more to shop local. but you can destroy the american dream by shopping online. its worth the few extra dollars to me to support local business.

Half hitch in destin has always matched other store prices on reels. Keeping my money in town and personal service is too important to shop online. Talking to a machine makes me want to throw my phone across the room.

I never order online but i will not support some tackle shops if their service is bad.
If a local shop doesn't show you the appreciation that you deserve, then you have every reason to go elsewhere. I for one can think of many local shops in different locations I've been where they will never see another dollar from me again.

You'll prob be the first person bitchin that there is no place to buy live shrimp when the closest tackle shop goes out of business. I don't have much money either but I still shop local tackle shops for almost all my tackle unless I can't find it there. I don't buy reels there because I usually buy broke junk and fix it myself so I can actually afford it. No complaining when the only place left to buy terminal tackle is walmart, they don't have it and you can't wait a week for shipping and when it happens just remember you were a part of the problem.
