I read the Perdido Bay history article posted by Sequoiha. As a former resident of Pensacola (twice) the article is a very interesting of the bay and how the paper mill in Cantonment has impacted the water. The article is upto 2004. Sure would be interested to find informatin from 2004 forward to see what all has happened.
I was in Escambia County last week looking at property no far from the paper mill and learned they are apparently putting in a huge pipeline all the way to Perdido Bay. Not sure but this sound like a pipe will be used rather than 11 Mile Creek?

We used an old wet land near the mouth of eleven mile creek. There is plenty of information on the web about it.
