alright alright. well the leash i was using for my paddle was a bit long, but at the time that didn't seem to matter.

I was fishing this morning in the bay and i picked up a baby jack crevalle. So i put him on my trolling poll and just let the current take off with him. well, a nice bull shark came by and hit it so i drop the paddle and grab my rod, i fight with this shark for about 10 minutes pull him up to the top to cut my line and i see my paddle leash in his mouth, cut in half......no paddle anywhere.....thank god at that exact moment the water calmed and i was able to doggy paddle it back to shore.

moral of the story, use as short a leash as possible for your gear, 10 ft is too much

Lost my paddle once too, trying to string up a fish. Luckily had my buddy there and a rope so had to paddle both of our asses back in to shore. I was happy i didn't have to doggy paddle it back, but I was pissed that he enjoyed the ride back in so much.

Leeroy. I believe my buddy from work is the one who bought your yak. he called me Saturday really excited about a yak he purchased and told me a wild story about the paddle not coming with the yak because of something to do with a bull shark.
