Listening in to the meeting tonight in Orange Beach discussing the fishery and possible grouper closures. Its good to see some locals showed up to speak their peace. I just hope we have a chance in keeping our fishing industry in Bon Secour. Be sure to try and make the upcoming meetings too!

A Note on Scoping:
Scoping is the process of identifying issues, potential impacts, and reasonable alternatives associated with the issue at hand. It provides the first and best opportunity for the public to make suggestions or to raise issues and concerns before the Council begins developing an amendment.

For more information on any of these meetings, please call the Gulf Council at 813-348-1630.
(end transmission)

I hope many of you can attend these meetings. Scoping Meetings are key because that's your best chance of heading off at the pass the dumbass anti-recreational fishing regs being shat out by the South Atlantic and Gulf Councils.

Meanwhile, keep your eye on the main prize: the passing of the Senate & House bills that will bludgeon into submission the Sustainable Fisheries Act portion of the Reathourized Magnuson Stevens Act. It is the SFA portion that forces the NMFS to ignore economic impacts, best science and all other factors , in favor of the worst-case scenario guesstimates put forward by the pro-Envirofascist, anti-fishing Gummint scientists. Never forget that the SFA was rammed thru Congress and rammed up our asses by the Pew Charitable Trust funded radical Envirofascist anti-rec fishing groups.

The only way to make sure these bills get passed is to write your two US Senators and your US Congressman telling them that you are in favor of these bills and you will be voting in the national elections based on how they vote on these bills.
