Hi all I need some help...I have a 2000 Ranger R73 sport with a Mercury 125 motor. Problem is when Iturn my key the motor seems like its not getting enough power to fully operate...besides the battery is there any other areas that may be affecting it? Any info would be grand. Thanks in advance

Check, clean and tighten all the battery cables at the battery and starter...sounds like you either have a weak battery, voltage drop or a weak starter. im sure there is more and more people will chime in

check your connections, if that doesnt work have the battery tested, if not the battery then you are losing power somewhere else...hopefully its a easy simple fix becasue the warm wx is on its way

I agree check your connections at your battery. It they are clean and it still does it, check your main ground wire and make sure that its not corroded on the motor side of it. Bad ground wires will cause that problem everytime.. If not that then It could be your starter. I'm not a boat mechanic but I am an automotive tech.

Check the battery real good as they can look like they are charging ok by the meter but still not have the juice to spin the motor. I just had the same problem.

Bingo! The battery was the problem....went out and bought a new one, runs like she was brand new again. Thanks all for the advice.
