Shiznik (2/14/2010)Curious to see the pic of the one you make. The steel/alloy Walmart ones may work, but the do rust around all the fitting, bolts after a while. How about a long handle too for taller people? Might create more leverage and work better? Just an idea?

Shiznik (2/15/2010)Might sound crazy, but if I one with my own specs to it, it'd be 6' long and 20" wide for the rake catch. I was kinda wondering what yours would look like for the mesh. Sounds like it'd be awesome for the fleas! You might have another product line there!
If you don't mind post a pic of the one you made with specs, I'd love to compare it to the one I have just out of curiosity!choppedliver (3/9/2010)I finished mine today... I wont be making anymore guys... sorry I just have too many projects going on that I need to concentrate. The one I made is nice, but there is no way I can make one like mine for a price you guys would buy and still be worth my time and effort. If I had more tools and some different materials, possibly, but for now sand flea rakes are off my "to do list".
That does not mean I wont make them in the future when I have different materials and tools. I would also revisit the sand flea rake situation if I come up with a simpler design that I can make economically
